Welcome to Gyuto Wheel of Dharma Monastery
Gyuto Wheel of Dharma Monastery was created with the guidance and blessing of His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama of Tibet to share the wisdom teachings of Tibetan Buddhism. About Gyuto Teachings and Community
Gyuto Wheel of Dharma Monastery is the first Western branch of the famous Gyuto Tantric University, one of only two historical seats of high tantric learning in the Tibetan Buddhist monastic system. Gyuto Tantric University is based in exile in Dharamsala (Sidbhari), India.
Gyuto Wheel of Dharma Monastery in Minneapolis continues the tradition of discipline, scholarship, teaching, and service as part of this venerable Tibetan heritage institution. Gyuto monks are practitioners of the Tibetan Buddhist Gelug lineage of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
The public is welcome at Gyuto's teachings and events, and the Monastery has public hours regularly on Wednesdays 7pm-9pm for prayer, meditation and recitation practices, and on Saturdays 7pm-9pm for Lam Rim teachings by resident teacher Venerable Geshe Ajan. Gyuto also offers regular lectures by well-known Buddhist scholar and translator Professor Roger Jackson on classical Buddhist topics. The Monastery serves the nation's second-largest Tibetan exile community located in Minnesota, as well as its diverse non-Tibetan members, friends, and guests. The Monastery frequently organizes Interfaith events to promote universal harmony and peace.
